Strengthening Families Program

The Strengthening Families Program is for parents and youth ages 10-14. This fun and interactive class allows parents and youth to spend one on one time together, discovering ways that will ensure youth make good choices as they enter intermediate and middle school.

The Strengthening Families Program is a seven week course, each class lasting two hours. During the first hour, parents and youth separate. In the adult class, parents learn how to show love, while setting limits. They also discuss making rules and consequences; how to solve problems with their youth and understanding what youth this age (10-14) are like.

The youth learn how to handle frustration, resist peer pressure, appreciate their parents and how to get along with others.

During the last hour of the class, the parents and youth come together for the family session. Here, they have fun in activities and games, discuss what makes their family strong and learn to solve problems together.

Strengthening Family classes are ongoing throughout the year. To find out when the next class begins, you can call The Family Support Center at (435)723-6010.
