Welcome to Brigham City Waste Water Treatment Plant

The Wastewater Treatment Department has nine full-time employees and two part-time.

The main function of the Wastewater Treatment Department is to keep the treatment plant and collection system in compliance with EPA and State regulations.

Box Elder Creek from 500 West on 600 North, west to I-15 is cleaned and maintained by our Department.

The Wastewater Treatment Department also assists in snow removal in the winter.

Treatment Plant

  • The Treatment Plant consists of an activated sludge treatment process system.
  • There are two aerated ditches with a capacity of 2,100,000 gallons each.
  • There are two clarifiers with a capacity of 650,000 gallons each.
  • There is one aerated digester with an approximate capacity of 486,450 gallons.
  • There are seventeen drying beds that are 6 inches deep for a total combined capacity of 937,603 gallons.
  • In 2003, approximately 1.6 million gallons were treated daily for a yearly total of 588.77 million gallons.

The tour consists of an explanation of how the Plant operates and a walking tour of the facilities.
