Quality of Life

Brigham City's outstanding distinguishing factor is quality of life. Residents and visitors both describe it with a variety of terms such as "small-town atmosphere," or "hometown feel." Brigham City offers a picturesque location at the foot of the Wellsville Mountains, tree-lined streets, historic architecture, adjacent wildlands, and outdoor recreation areas. Our parks and recreation programs offer year-round activities for all ages. Brigham City has a pleasant, four-season climate.

World class artistic and cultural offerings are available both at home and nearby. The annual Brigham City Heritage Arts Festival is a popular event highlighting the various periods in Brigham City's history. The Brigham City Museum offers a variety of traveling exhibits as well as a permanent collection of artwork that is regularly displayed. The history exhibit at the Museum offers a glimpse into the life of Brigham City's early residents. A recent acquisition, the Gunther Family Fossil and Mineral Collection, includes many one-of-a-kind specimens collected over the course of the Gunther family's more than 80 years of collecting. Portions of this collection are now on display at the Brigham City Museum of Natural History. The Heritage Theater, in nearby Perry, offers live productions drawing on local and regional talent. One half hour drive from Brigham City gets you to Peery's Egyptian Theater in Ogden or the Cache Valley Center for the Arts in Logan. In Salt Lake City you will find the renowned Utah SymphonyUtah Opera, and Ballet West (established by Brigham City native Willam Christensen). There are also Broadway productions at the Capitol Theater and numerous other artistic and cultural activities in Salt Lake City which is only an hour's drive away.

For the professional sports enthusiast, the Ogden Raptors (Pioneer league baseball), Salt Lake Bees (AAA baseball), Utah Jazz (NBA basketball), Utah Grizzlies (ECHL hockey), and Real Salt Lake (MLS soccer) provide year-round action. College sports are also popular with Utah State University, Weber State University, University of Utah, and Brigham Young University fielding nationally competitive teams in all major sports.
