Fundraising

Our fundraising efforts are varied and many. It is through these funds that the Center is able to feed more of the homebound elderly and disabled in our community as well as furnish many needed items for the Center itself.

We have a gift shop known as Treasures Under Glass. Crafters help create many beautiful items for sale at the "Gift Shop". The proceeds from the gift shop help support Meals on Wheels. Many Meals on Wheels patrons participate in this program when they feel that they don’t have the monetary means to pay for the meals they enjoy. The materials for the projects they complete are provided at no cost—they donate their time and talents. Others simply volunteer their talents for the joy it brings them—some because they know of the importance Meals on Wheels was to a loved one. There are many quality items for sale throughout the year.

The gift shop also sells Aunty’s™ Jams. This product proudly displays a trademark. Jams include Apricot Pineapple, Peach, and Rosey Peach (raspberries and peaches). It is available by the jar or in jam baskets and on sale at the Senior Center. A Customized gift basket can be put together at your request any time fo the year. Special holiday packaging is provided for gift giving during December. Contact Iantha at (435)226-1452.

We hold a major fundraising event in the month of March each year during the March for Meals campaign sponsored by the National Meals On Wheels Association of America. This fundraiser is produced by the Box Elder Golden Spike Senior Services Board of Directors in collaboration with the Mayor's Advisory Council on Aging, and supported by volunteers from concept through production. This event has received national recognition by the Meals On Wheels Association of America.

We also have the Senior Center's newest cookbook --Timeless Treasures-- on sale at the Center. You'll find popular recipes from the Senior Center kitchen as well as other tried and true recipes from our seniors.

The Senior Center has a booth at Peach Days located behind the Chamber of Commerce building. This long standing tradition has been a great fundraising event for the Center. You'll find a variety of items on sale made by volunteers and friends of the Senior Center. Our cinnamon rolls and cookies are a popular item, especially during the early morning hours.
